Ohoku movie
Just read that Ninomiya Kazunari is starring in Ohoku. The movie is based on a Yoshinaga Fumi. I'll have to check out the manga then. Hmm, it seems this will be the second film Ninomiya will star in that is based on a manga. Should be interesting. I think he's a great actor. Looking forward to it.

The movie is based on just the first volume of the manga series. It's a lovely story and did a great job getting me hooked, but the best arc is the Iemitsu x Arikoto arc that spans volume 2-4. I have no idea how the Tsunayoshi arc will end right now 'cause I haven't read volume 5, but I can say at the moment volume 3 is my favorite and volume 4 makes me cry. I really want to see the movie though T__T.
ReplyDeleteI can't really imagine Ninomiya as the main guy character in the movie though... I thought they would find someone much prettier... not that Ninomiya isn't good-looking, but I was thinking someone pretty almost feminine, but still masculine. Oh well, he'll do great I'm sure 'cause he really is one of my fave actors. Then I wonder who will play Yoshimune...
