First day of class

I had written up a post earlier, but thought it was too deep for my own good. So, I'll keep this relatively short and on the topic of school so that I don't get side-tracked. So, first day of class was interesting. I think it's going to be pretty fast-tracked. The teacher already was going along filling our heads with grammar. Most of the grammar is pretty much review, but I feel like it's stuff I didn't get a very good handle while I was at UCSC. I feel like I always need to learn things twice or three times before I really understand it. The stuff I learned in college, I feel like we just blew through it without even getting very much practice. Well, I know I didn't practice very much because I was concentrating on history as well. Plus, I'll admit I did slack off at the end of the year, but now I feel like I can just focus on the task at hand. I feel good about it. I feel like I'm going to learn a lot here. It's going to be tough though because I'll have to look everything up. Nothing is written in English. Everything in the textbooks is all in Japanese, which I'm fine with because it means I can't slack off. I think the problem with college was that everything was laid out in the textbook, so I could last minute cram everything in and kind of slide through class. Here, if you didn't study, you're completely lost. I don't want to be lost in class. Learned my lesson from college. It's time to buckle down and get serious about learning the language if I want to be a translator. I can't wait to get fluent in the language. Who knows, by the end of this year, you might not know what I'm talking about in these posts because they may be in JAPANESE!!! XD
