Fortune telling

I ended up going to see a fortune teller today. I kind of panicked after failing to take my JLPT test in July. I kind of really felt lost, but so I needed at least something to tell me that where I was going was in the right direction. I decided to get a mix between eastern astrology (Hoshi) and palm reading (Solla). From the palm reading, the first thing that he said was that I tend to do a lot of things like once and that I need a lot of variety, so finding a job that has a lot of variety would be good for me. I can't seem to do only one thing, which I can admit to considering that I'm currently in school, I have a job, I do calligraphy, I do flower arranging, so yeah, I'm kind of all over the place. If I am able to ground myself, then Imy love life and work will come. He actually said that my heart and my mind aren't connected. I tend to have an artist like mind, so that's why my thoughts are all over the place. I kind of knew everything that he was saying about me, so it wasn't really a surprise. Though, what I did take away was that I need to find a job with a lot of variety or else that I will be completely bored.

The eastern astrology was more interesting. Apparently, I am very flexible. I tend to think about other people work out something that works for both, which I really do tend to do. But, the bad thing about that is that I tend to become unstable because I tend to listen to a lot of people. But then, I also tend to help a lot of people because of that, which I do have to agree with. About work, Hoshi said that I should work in a big company, or at least a company that has been well established. That would be the best for me because I work hard and have a lot of flexibility that I will do well there. Also, doing background work would also be good. I don't tend to take a leadeship position because of my flexibility. Basically, I'm kind of like grass and that I need a tree give me stability, but when there's too much water, I tend to become unstable.

However, the biggest point was that I need to do a lot of prep work. I tend to be very shy, so I don't have that much appeal, so I need to work on making an appeal on the first try. I am slow to get into the rhythm, but once I do,  I tend to do well. His advice to me was to prepare and practice a lot for the upcoming interviews, and even if I do fail the real interviews, it would be good practice. I'm the type of person that needs to practice a lot because of my slowness, which I definitely do agree with. But once I pass this point, I will do well in my work. He also mentioned that even though I am aiming to be a translator, that I will be happy doing another job even if it isn't translating.

As for when my life will come more stable, it won't come for another 3 years. Apparently the next three years I'm going to feel unstable. I kind of like when I asked him if it was okay that I feel completely unstable, and his reply was "Yes it's okay, because of the way the planets are aligned at the moment, it can't be helped." Right now the way the planets are in my circle, so that's why I'm unstable. But, when 2014 comes around, I will have stability in my life. Well, I can't really complain about life, but I do kind of wish that I had something more concrete. But, the only thing to do is to prepare.

And of course, I wanted to dive a little bit into my love life. Apparently, I'm a slow person. I tend to take a long time to warm to a person, and even if I do like that person, I won't tell him, and the person I like won't tell me either probably because he doesn't know if I like him. I tend to leave a large gap between the person I like. However, Hoshi said that I am an easy person to talk to, and I don't shy away when talked to. The best way to find someone would be through a mutual friend. One thing that really stuck was that Sola said that I'm very girly from my palm reading. Though, I tend to think negatively about what I say after I say it. The rest of this year would be good, but the next two years would be kind of bad. It seems to be that 2014 is the year for me and when I might get married...

I must say that this was an interesting experience. I actually had always wanted to do it, but I just didn't know the timing. I've always wanted to know what kind of story my hand told and a little into the future. Oh, Hoshi also mentioned not to panic because I am vey slow natured, and panicking wouldn't help. Besides, there isn't really much I can do anyway, so I will definitely not panic aand just prepare. Whatever the outcome is from here on out, it is up to me, but I will definitely take the advice of preparing for what is to come.

Love

There are days where I feel it is completely necessary to go out and find myself a boyfriend. On other days, I feel completely satisfied that I'm single because I'm free to do whatever I want to do in life. This seems to be a never ending cycle. Actually, in my life, I don't think I've ever experienced really liking someone, which kind of brings me to believe that I will never be capable of loving someone. If I do end up loving someone, I think it would be an actual miracle... Somehow I haven't found men to be all that appealing in life, but I hope that I can find someone that I find appealing. Perhaps I'm just picky. Perhaps I am too wishful. I'll just keep dreaming...

Renewal

I think it's time that I begin to write again. My lack of updates isn't from being busy, it's because I lack the compassion to write. I could end up writing little dilly dally everyday things that happen within my life, but I will end up thinking that what I am writing  has become so superficial that writing becomes meaningless.  I find that writing should come from the heart, and that when writing comes from the heart that one's most intimate feelings are revealed. Perhaps I think a little too deeply for my own good, but it's not everyday that I get a chance to write, so I'd like to make every word count in the time that I write. Oh, and please excuse any errors I make while writing because of this tablet keyboard...

In the recent months, I have started writing Japanese calligraphy. I somehow find writing to be very rewarding despite its challenges. I always find myself to be ovecritical of what I write, which I will try to change this negativeness, but with it comes a satisfaction that I rarely find within myself. Actually, it's almost the same feeling that I get when I play music. It's that fleeting satisfaction when I know I have put in my all into writing calligraphy. It's not something that can be done half assed. Until the very end, I need to follow through until the completion. I find that in music it's the same concept, which is probably why I can connect with calligraphy. I can actually feel that my writing comes deep within me. Actually, I wonder why I don't find this kind of satisfaction when I arrange flowers. Perhaps there just isn't that connection that I feel with writing. Flower arranging is really a beautiful art, but flowers only last so long before they wither. Pehaps it's the progress within that I always search for. With calligraphy, this will always stay just like how music will always stay, but with flowers, it always feels so short lived. It's such a waste to go full force to arrange the flowers only to see them wither and all the hard work gone. There's no real progress to be seen, just an art.

I can see that this type of thinking is going to get me into trouble in life... Forever searching deep within thyself for that happiness that I don't think I have, but I actually do. When I don't feel I have happiness, I get depressed. I'm a walking roller coaster. Will I ever one day be satisfied with myself...

2010

I'm having a hard time coming up with something to write because I don't want to dive to deep into what happened this year. It's gone, so it's time to move on. However, the biggest event that still think about is my grandma passing away. It's already been 6 months, but there are times when I still can't believe she's gone. For now, I will just celebrate a new year and things to look forward.

That's all for now. Happy New Year everyone! <3

Ostomy

I don't have my bag anymore, but I certainly feel for those who still have it.

Days

Eyes awaken to cold air, still wrapped cozily
'Tis a brand new day
The change of season, the change of time
'Tis late already
Shuffle! Bang!
I chase time, for it does not wait
No time to waste
Buried with diction
Buried with syntax
For the day of judgment creeps near
Oh how nice would it be to
Concentrate!
The days, tick tock

(Ok, a little abstract, but I just wanted to try something new)

Obento

I can't help be proud of making my first bento ever. I must say, it tasted really good! I didn't make the seaweed on the very left, but I made everything else. Success!!

I will update later at length my first private lesson, but I just wanted to pop this picture in.
