Weekend of INSANITY

This weekend, I really don't want to count how much money I've spent... let's just say it was put into good use for... FUN!!!

Well, I met up with a friend from UCSC Japanese class yesterday since I wanted to have some fun. My god, we had so much fun. We walked about Kinshichou for like the entire day. We were originally going to see Naruto, but it wasn't playing at the movie theater that we went to, so we went around the malls. I was able to get a book and a some souvenirs for a friend. We also played at the arcade, and gambled some money away.... I seriously don't remember how much, but it wasn't over $100. Most of the money was spent trying to get the prizes from the machines that you try your luck with the claws. That was so much fun. We definitely got our money's worth there. Though, we couldn't get the cute flying squirrels (because we didn't figure out how to get them). I ended up getting 3 dice, and some other prizes that I split with my friend. I basically treated her to most of the food that day. She kind of broke at the moment because of bank issues, but she said that she's going to pay me back by taking places like San Francisco when we get back to Santa Cruz. Hell, I really don't care about the money. I just care that she had a great time, and we both did! (Uhh, Mom, don't kill me for saying that.... I'll definitely pay you and Dad back once I get my job in Japan!) My day ended with watching the fireworks from Chiba Minato from my balcony. Man it was such a pretty sight!

Well, despite having so much, I met up with the friend from Japanese class and another friend (a guy) also from Japanese 3 class. Man, it was an incredible day. First, the day started off having some takoyaki that my friend made. Man, it was delicious! Then, we went to the arcade to spend more money on gambling, prizes and stuff. I don't remember how much was spent... but shouldn't be more than... $20? Oh! We got to play the drums game. It was so much fun! Except for... the last part, my guy friend found the Lucky Star theme.... Not going to watch Lucky Star at all... It was kind of scary watching him go all fan girly over Lucky Star.... I finally figured out how to get the flying squirrel charms! I won -3- of them! I gave 2 of them to my girl friend since she really loved them. She gave me other prizes as well, so I think it all evened out... (somewhat). Anyway... afterwards, we went shopping for a bit. My guy friend wanted to check out the yukata for guys. It's quite expensive in the mall that we were looking at. I already have mine, which I'm going to be wearing this weekend! Then, I bought a really nice shirt which my friends say I look fantastic in! Then... here's the big shocker of the day... (don't faint Mom...) my girl friend and I went to get our nails done (Oh man, I just know when my mom reads this, I'm going to get an email or phone call from her going, "WHAT THE @#%& WHERE YOU THINKING AND HOW MUCH MONEY DID YOU SPEND?!) Uhh, anyway, I figured that this will be my once in a lifetime thing while I'm here because I'm not going to spend that kind of money when I come back again next year. Plus, I've always wanted to try out long nails and see what it's like to live with them. Let me tell you, it's friggin HARD! Haha. Anyway, it was money well spent (in my opinion) because both my friend and I were extremely ecstatic by how our nails were pampered. My friend told me that in the states, all nails are done by machine or by gluing on pre-made fake nails, but here in Japan, all acrylics are done by scratch. There's no fake nail. Just pure liquid acrylic, which I think is better because I think the risk of the acrylic popping off and leaving holes is lower. The entire process took approximately 3 hours, but we had so much fun feeling girly! My friend got black nails, and I got pink nails. We got two decals... one on each hand. I paid for my friend's acrylics because she doesn't have the money, but in my opinion, money well spent because we had the GREATEST time doing our nails! I'd do it again with her in a heartbeat (with my own money next time of course)! She's probably going to pay me back big time when we get back to Santa Cruz, but I find no need to because we had the best weekend ever. Actually, my friend says it's like the best time of her life, and it just brings me tears of joy when she said something like that. Anyways, time for bed. Had too much excitement for the entire weekend~! Time to get back to serious studying before next weekend where we go... KARAOKEing!! YAYz!!
